Consumer: Dog owners
The purpose of the Don't Shoot the Dog book is to inform and instruct dog owners how to train their dogs without yelling or screaming.
Pros: Training a dog (or a child) to adopt socially acceptable behaviors can be a daunting experience...not to mention a very frustrating one. It is really easy to lose your 'cool' and start yelling, screaming and pulling your hair out but it doesn't have to be that way.
When training becomes difficult, the problem doesn't always lay with the student...dog or child. Sometimes the problem lies with the teacher, and that would be you. The first step of training a dog to do as you order him to do is for you to understand how to give orders that they dog comprehend. If he doesn't understand what you want him to do, it isn't very likely that he will do it. You really don't have to do any yelling or screaming and you sure don't have to shoot the dog. :) The book, Don't Shoot the Dog can show you how.
Cons: Before using these techniques, you should always consult with a vet if your dog is too aggressive to work with safely. However, these techniques are very humane and should work with most dogs.
Guarantee: The guarantee as stated on the website is in part: "We do not have a time limit on returns. If you purchased the item from us, we still offer it in our online store and it is in brand new condition, you can return it (see below for the details on specific products). If you have any questions about whether you should return an item, please contact us before shipping it to us. We do not refund outgoing shipping. You will need to pay for return shipping also."
Value for money: Don't Shoot the Dog is a very good value.
